PURPOSE:To set directly a desired frequency to a memory device by setting a mode of a VFO memory as the mode of an idle channel and using an entry key to apply the frequency setting. CONSTITUTION:When an ENTRY SW 14 is set, an input switch of a memory device 8 is set to attain the entry mode. Then an idle channel check means 54 checks whether or not a mode data exists and in case of the idle channel, the mode data of the VFO is set as the mode of the said channel, the mode display is outputted and an entry key 13 sets the operating frequency data one by one digit. When the setting of all digits is finished, a PLL data is calculated, the frequency display is outputted and the process returns to the main routine.
