PURPOSE:To obtain a recording material having excellent high-speed recordability, plasticizer resistance, diazo developing liquid resistance, preservability of recorded images and retention of brightness of white paper parts, by using at least one multivalent metal salt of a specified halophthalic acid derivative as a color reaction agent. CONSTITUTION:At least one compound of general formula [I] is used as a color reaction agent, in a tehrmal recording material utilizing a color reaction of a colorless or light-colored basic dye with the color reaction agent capable of performing the color reaction on making contact with the dye. In the formula R1 is hydrogen, a substd. or unsubstd. alkyl, substd. or unsubstd. cycloalkyl, substd. or unsubstd. arylcarbonyl or the like, each or R2-R6 is hydrogen, a substd. or unsubstd. alkyl, substd or unsubstd. cycloalkyl, substd. or unsubstd. alkenyloxyl, substd. or unsubstd. alkynyloxyl, halogen, nitro, cyano, hydroxyl or the like, and M is a multivalent metal. The compound may be, for example, a multivalent metal salt of an indole-2-carboxylic acid derivative. |
