PURPOSE:To seal the operating liquid of a heat pipe in a short time so as not to generate leakage by a method wherein a resistance spot welder, whose upper and lower electrodes are attached to the operating liquid sealing port of a metallic heat pipe, is provided to caulk the sealing port by the both electrodes under pressure while effecting resistance welding. CONSTITUTION:An element tube 1 for a heat pipe made of aluminum alloy A6063-0 is evacuated to the vacuum degree of 0.05Tor and the operating liquid of Freon is poured into the tube 1. After pouring the operating liquid, the sealing port of the pipe is welded by employing a resistance spot welder to caulk and seal through fusion welding, thereafter, the element tube 1 is cut whereby the operating liquid is sealed into the element tube of the heat pipe. The operating liquid will never leak from the sealing part of the heat pipe, which is obtained in such a manner. |
