PURPOSE:To contrive stable recording across a density range from a low density to a high density by colored recording materials other other a first recording material, by first absorbing ruggedness of the surface of an image-receiving paper by the first recording material which is heat-fusible and is transparent or white, thereby providing a smooth surface. CONSTITUTION:A first recording material 2 which is substantially transparent or substantially white is applied by recording to an image-receiving paper 1 in the form of dots, irrespective of the presence or absence of commands for recording by second, third and fourth recording materials 3, 4, 5. The dots are substantially uniformly spaced and have such a substantially fixed size that adjacent dots do not make contact with each other. On the first recording material 2 thus applied, recording is conducted in a superposing manner by the second, third and fourth recording materials 3, 4, 5 comprising respective coloring materials having different colors, e.g., yellow, magenta and cyan, according to image information. Accordingly, since the smoothness and close contact properties of the surface of the image-receiving paper 1 are enhanced by the first recording material, stable recoding can be achieved even when the sizes of dots of the second, third and fourth recording materials 3, 4, 5 are small, namely, when recording with a low density. |
