PURPOSE:To improve a characteristic of ignition and an efficiency of fuel by a method wherein accumulated electrical energy is discharged into gas ionized under an electrical discharging from an ignition plug. CONSTITUTION:A voltage of about -300V is applied from a point A and +12V is applied to a point B. The voltage of -300V is charged in C1 through a choke coil L3, diode D1 and L1 of a transformer. When a point P is opened, a transistor Q3 is turned OFF, in turn a transistor Q2 is turned ON and the value of -300V is instantaneously changed to a value of +12V through C3. The pulse passes through Z1 to turn ON a rectifier Q1. A part of the electrical charge accumulated in C1 passes through L1 and then discharged. At that time, a high voltage is generated at L2 of a transformer for a short period of time and discharged at a spark gap T. After a high voltage is not found at L2, an electrical charge accumulated at C1 passes through L2 and subsequently discharged at the spark gap T. Therefore, a strong ignition energy can be obtained and a characteristic of ignition and an efficiency of fuel can be improved.
