The subject of the invention is a curler for rolling up locks of hair, comprising a pivoting small bar with automatic return against the body of the said curler. It comprises a semi-rigid flexible small bar 6 which is securely attached via one end 9 to the body 7 of the curler 8, with automatic return of its other end 10. The free end 10 of the small bar 6 extends slightly from the body 7 of the curler 8 at the level of the cheek 11 corresponding to it. Opposite the means acting as the small bar 6, a longitudinal groove may be provided on the body 7 of the said curler 8. The free end 10 of the small bar 6 is accommodated in this partial groove. When a lock of hair is gripped between the body 7 of the curler 8 and the small bar 6, the said small bar 6 acts as a clamp and holds the lock of hair at this level, which enables the said lock to be rolled up around the body 7 of the curler 8.
