PURPOSE:To improve filtration effect and reduce suction noise by forming a swirl chamber and a filter chamber separately in an air cleaner. CONSTITUTION:In the center of a cylindrical case 10, a partition member 14 is provided in the axial direction to form a swirl chamber 16. This chamber 16 is provided with an air suction port 18 opening in the tangential direction which makes suction air to swirl. In one end of the case 10, a filter chamber 34 being connected with the chamber 16 and containing a cylindrical filter 38 is formed. By so constructing, the swirling flow passes from the periphery to the center and is filtered. At the other end of the case 10, an expansion chamber 66 is provided into which the air filtered by the filter 38 is introduced via a central passage 20. The chamber 66 is also provided with an exhaust port 70 connected with a suction air passage 68 and air is supplied to an engine via the exhaust port 70. |
