NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by formula I [Y is liberated or esterified carboxyl or group shown by formula II (R<a> and R<b> are H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, phenyl, ester, or R<a> and R<b> together with neighboring N are bonded to form 5--7-membered hetero ring); R<1> is alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, aminoalkyl, phenyl, etc.; n is 2-4; R<2> and R<3> are H or bonded to form single bond; E is cis or transvinylene and trans when n=2] and its salt. EXAMPLE:(6Z,8E,10E)-5,12-Dihydroxy-nonadeca-eicosa-6,8,10-trienoic acid. USE:Having improved leukotriene B4 antagonism (e.g., inhibitory action on leukocyte migration), effective as an antiallergic agent, anti-inflammatory drug and a remedy for gout. PREPARATION:For example, a compound shown by formula III (Q<2> is H or acyl; Z is Y except liberated carboxyl) is reduced and optionally an ester group is amidated or subjected to conversion reaction to a liberated acid to give a compound shown by formula I.
