PURPOSE:To easily attain an optional level control by using an output of a D/A converter so as to control a level control circuit for a recorded bias signal and a level control circuit for an erasure signal. CONSTITUTION:A variable gain amplifier 15 is provided between an output line of a multiplier circuit 14 and a recording/reproducing common use head 8 and a variable gain amplifier 12 is provided between an erasure signal output line and an erasure head 7. Further, a circuit generating the 1st digital waveform data to obtain a control voltage of an erasure signal level control circuit and the 2nd digital waveform data to obtain a control voltage for a recording signal level control circuit is provided, and D/A converters 27, 30 are provided respectively between the waveform data generating circuit and the two level control circuits. The end and start of the supply of the erasure and recording bias signals are controlled by the 1st and 2nd digital waveform data so as to manage accurately the relation of time between the erasure and recording.
