The present invention relates to a gripper with automatic closure comprising a concave support 110 which carries two clamping jaws 120, 130 articulated to the support about hinges 121, 131 and articulated to one another about a median hinge 122. The sum of the distances separating the third hinge 122 from the first and second hinges 121, 131 is greater than the distance separating the first and the second hinges at rest so as to define two stable respectively open and closed positions for the jaws. According to the invention, the gripper additionally comprises elastic tabs 150 securely fastened to one of the lateral curved edges 125, 135 of the jaws. The tabs are oriented in a general direction parallel to the axes of articulation of the jaws, towards the outside of the clamping zone, whilst converging, in the closed position, in the direction of their free end towards a plane of symmetry of the first and second hinges passing through the median hinge. <IMAGE>
