Illuminating equipment in a microwave cooker comprises a lamp holder (10) arranged in a lamp housing (4) which includes a metallic sleeve with a clear width less than the wavelength of the microwaves to be delivered into a cooking chamber of the oven, the sleeve being aligned with an opening (2) in a wall (1) of the cooker. The housing (4) is formed of an inner sleeve (6) receiving the lamp holder (10) and an outer sleeve (5) which is metallically connected with the inner sleeve and which rests against and is fastened to the wall (1).
