PURPOSE:To enable withering of a harmful weed arrowroot it its root without giving adverse effect to planted trees such as cedar, cypress, etc., by dissolving a 3,6-dichloro-2-methoxybenzoic acid salt in water at a specific concentration and dripping a specific amount of the solution of the active component to the top of arrowroot. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution of a 3,6-dichloro-2-methoxybenzoic acid salt (especially preferably dimethylamine salt) having a concentration of 30-70wt% is dripped to the top of arrowroot at an amount of 50-500mg of the active component (in terms of acid) per one plant to effect the withering of the arrowroot. The above aqueous solution of 3,6-dichloro-2-methoxybenzoic acid salt is filled in a small-sized container of about 100-500ml capacity provided with a dispenser to discharge 0.1-2.0ml, preferably 0.5-1.0ml of the content by single pushing or triggering action. The dispenser is preferably a constant rate dispenser having an accuracy of + or -10-+ or -20%.
