PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a structure and simplify it, and to improve control accuracy at the time of exciting force control by coupling a test body with an exciter by a joint which has a magnetic bearing. CONSTITUTION:A bracket 3 supports the vertical shaft 7 of a housing 2, radial type magnetic bearings 10 and 11 are provided opposite a cylindrical laminate soft iron plate 9 fitted on the shaft 7, and coils wound around projection parts of the bearings 10 and 11 are fed with electricity to produce closed loop magnetic flux between the coils and iron plate 9, thereby supporting the shaft 7 mechanically without contacting. The shaft 7 is therefore permitted by the bearings 10 and 11 to be displaced radially, thereby transmitting an exciting force to the test body 1 while minimizing a frictional force perpendicular to the shaft direction. Further, a horizontal shaft 8 perpendicular to the shaft 7 is supported on a bracket 4 by similar magnetic bearings and then the up/ down and right/left displacement of the test body 1 by the exciter 5 is absorbed the gap formed between the bearings 10 and 11 through the rotations of the shafts 8 and 7, thereby performing high-accuracy control.
