PURPOSE:To obtain a bath agent containing a coexisting alkali salt and aluminum salt, by blending an alkali salt which is a principal ingredient of the bath agent with an aluminum salt, e.g. alum, etc., and further adding a hydroxycarboxylic acid thereto to prevent the precipitation of aluminum ions. CONSTITUTION:A bath agent, obtained by blending an alkali salt, e.g. sodium hydrogencarbonate, sodium sulfate, etc., which is a principal ingredient of the bath agent with an aluminum salt, e.g. alum, aluminum sulfate, etc., and further adding a hydroxycarboxylic acid, e.g. citric acid, tartaric acid, etc., or oxine-5- sulfonic acid, etc., thereto to prevent the precipitation and deposition of aluminum ions and containing the simultaneously coexisting alkali salt and aluminum salt in water. Although aluminum ions readily form precipitates even in a very slight alkaline aqueous solution under environmental condition, e.g. natural hot spring, etc., the above-mentioned bath agent is capable of providing the coexisting alkali salt and aluminum salt in water in a general household bath and efficacious for athele's foot and chronic constipation.
