PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of hunting, by providing a means, determining an elapse time of a specified condition on the number of revolutions of an engine during idle running, and an ignition timing control device, delaying an ignition timing as a bypass valve is held in an opening state. CONSTITUTION:A bypass valve 19 is disposed in a bypass passage 18 through which an intake air passage 14 on the upper stream of a throttle valve 16 is communicated with an intake air passage 11 on the downstream thereof. Output signals from an airflow meter 15, a throttle switch 17, and crank angle sensors 24 and 25 are inputted to an electronic control unit 30. When the number of revolutions of an engine exceeds an upper limit value, by delaying an ignition timing as the bypass valve 19 is held in an opening sate, the number of revolutions of an engine is decreased to a value between a lower and an upper limit value and can be maintained at it is by means of the electronic control unit 30. This constitution enables prevention of the occurrence of hunting.
