PURPOSE:To obtain the titled polymer requiring no operation such as removal of ash, etc., by using a solid component obtained by blending calcium carbonate with a magnesium compound and treating, a piperidine derivative and an organoaluminum compound as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:The aimed polymer is obtained by polymerizing an olefin by the use of (A) a solid catalytic component which, for example, for example, is obtained by bringing (iii) an organic compound shown by formula R<1>OR<2> (R<1> are alkyl or aryl), (iv) an aromatic dicarboxylic acid diester such as dimethyl phthalate, etc., and (v) a titanium halide compound (e.g., TiCl4, etc.,) into contact with (i) calcium carbonate and (ii) a magnesium compound obtained by reacting metallic magnesium with a halogenated hydrocarbon in amounts of preferably 1ml component iii, 0.01-1g component iv and >=0.1g component v based on 1g components i+ii, (B) a piperidine derivative and (C) an organoaluminum compound as a catalyst.
