PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for resetting of distortion correction quantity at the changeover of use/non-use of a lens extender by setting only a deviation for the distortion correction set as a reference for use with the lens extender from the distortion correction quantity set as the reference of non-use. CONSTITUTION:A distortion correction output V0 is obtained by adding a reference deviation adjustment distortion correction quantity Vn and its sub adjustment distortion correction quantity Vxn in using an extender to the sum between the reference adjustment distortion correction quantity V1 and its sub adjustment distortion correction quantity Vx1 at the non-use of extender in interlocking with the changeover of extender. In switching the lens extender from the non-use into the use state, the correction quantity V1 is subtracted from the distortion correction output V01 obtained at non-use to obtain the correction quantity Vx1 and the value is stored. Then the correction quantity Vn is added to the output V01 to obtain a correction output.
