PURPOSE:To easily and completely hold the learning contents of a microcomputer having a learning function by using a memory which needs no back-up power supply and can perform the electrical writing and erasing actions. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer controller 1 having a learning function and to be mounted on a vehicle contains a CPU 2 that performs an optimum state arithmetic while an ignition switch 7 is kept on and an engine is working. The learning contents of the controller 1 are written to a RAM 3 to cope properly with new information supplied successively. When the stop of the engine is confirmed via the switch 7, a writing/erasing circuit 5 is controlled by the CPU 2. Thus the preceding contents of a ROM 4 which can perform freely the electrical writing/erasing actions are erased. Then the contents of a RAM 3 are written. A relay 8 is turned off by the CPU 2 and a power supply 9 is switched off. In such a way, the learning contents can be easily and completely held.
