During standing in the milk parlour cows are supplied with a measured quantity of dry concentrated feedstuff. The latter is measured by a machine with a cylindrical housing (4) for a rotor (6). The feedstuff is fed into hopper (1), mounted above the housing, and falls into a recess (5) in the rotor periphery. As the rotor is rotated the feedstuff is transferred to the outlet (9) beneath the housing (4). The recess is provided with a sharp edge to cut through the feedstuff as it falls from the hopper.
