In a photographic still camera having two chambers, sealed against light leak in the operating state, for a film cassette having an unexposed film part located on a supply spool, and for a film cassette having an exposed film part, it is proposed to provide locked covers (1, 2), operable separately from one another, for the two chambers (K1, K2) containing the cassettes (11, 12). One of the chambers (K1) is provided with locking means VS which can be released only with the aid of special auxiliary means. As a result, changing of the film is facilitated and the possibility of maloperation and the risk of damage to important parts of the camera are reduced. <IMAGE>
