Computer system with several computers

A computer system with several computers is proposed, and in it data transmission between the computers is monitored in such a way that in each case a predefined amount of data to be transmitted is combined into one data block. The data is then transmitted serially from the sending computer to the receiving computer, where the amount of data received is compared with the predefined amount. The data blocks are also transmitted cyclically at predefined time intervals, so that as well as the amount of transmitted data, a bit which identifies the start of the data block can be tested. The proposed testing of the data transmission can be implemented simply, and yet represents a very thorough test of correct functioning of the data transmission and the sending computer.
