The fence post (100) comprises an upright hollow-profile post (4) made up of a square tube, in front of which there is placed a fastening bar (8) made up of a rectangular tube which is fixed at the bottom end by plugging onto an abutment (9) and can be connected at the top end to the hollow-profile post (4) by a single connecting element (11, 14). Grid panels (10, 20) forming the fence surface are clamped in between the hollow-profile post (4) and the fastening bar (8). The fence post (100) mainly serves for forming grid-panel subdivisions, the height of 2 to 2.5 mm, in storage or exhibition halls. <IMAGE>
