<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a sliding member of a long life without wear, by forming the sliding member by a sintered member composed of cast iron powder of a particular density with free graphite disposed at the base portion and it surroundings of the sliding member. CONSTITUTION:An upper bearing 5 having a sliding portion 5a on which a rotary shaft slides is formed entirely of cast iron powder with a density of 6.0-6.45g/cm<2> and fiber shaped graphite is scattered at the base portion of the sliding portion and free graphite is scattered around its hollows. Therefore, the fine graphite scattered in the base portion has a solid lubricating effect, the free graphite has a metal contact preventing effect and the hollows serve as lubricating oil sumps. Therefore, a compressor of a long life is obtained which is excellent in wear and friction properties and can be operated with high reliability.</p> |
