PURPOSE:To provide a space heater capable of performing comfortable heating without blowing of cold air from a radiator under a stopped condition of heating by a method wherein a water-return pipe of a stem generator is provided with an adjusting valve which is opened only for a specified time after a heating operation is terminated. CONSTITUTION:A water-return pipe 11 of a space heater is provided with an adjusting valve 12 which is opened only for a specified period of time (within 15 seconds) after a heating operation is terminated. When a heating operation of a heat exchanger 1 is stopped, the adjusting valve 12 is opened and the condensed liquid within a liquid storing tank 7 is returned back into the heat exchanger 1 within a short period of time through a return-water pipe 11 owing to a head difference H. With the foregoing arrangement, a water return time is substantially reduced, cold air is hot blown out from the radiator 4, with the result that a comfortable heating can be carried out.
