PURPOSE:To intend wear-reduction of a screw blade and relaxation in cutting resin-reinforced glass by heating granular resin with a heating gas of plasma heat source and the like while the resin passes through the feeding zone of the screw. CONSTITUTION:A plasma heating unit set up in a heating gas circulating duct 6 generates high-temp. arc at an electrode 7 part by the application of plasma gas supply source 9, so that the circulating gas is heated at high temp. and the gas heated at higher than the resin melt-temp. is sent through a porous screen 12 from the downstream side of the resin stream directly-coupled to the compression part C at an edge of the gas heating part H. The heated gas is passed through the granular resin in H part and recovered into the heated gas circulating duct 6 at the other edge. While the granular resin supplied from the entrance part 4 is passed through the heating zone H, the surface of the resin is made half-melted and the inside is softened. Next, the resin becomes melted at the compression zone C, so that the wear of the blade face of the screw can be reduced. The problem that a reinforced glass fiber is cut into short pieces is relaxed as well.
