<p>A tool 30 for aligning engine cylinder heads 20 on engine blocks 10 prior to final assembly of the head to the block, which tool is inserted in bolt holes in the head and block, permits of final gasket 12, 16, 22 placement and inspection, the tool 30 including a central body 31, a plurality of steel balls 40 carried in an inclined passageway 35, a nose piece 45 carried in the body 31 engaged with one of said balls 40 to force the other ball 40 partially out of said inclined passageway and a handle 55 for rotating the nose piece 45 to permit the balls 40 to retract into the passageway and the head to pass over the tools and be guided down onto the block.</p> |
