PURPOSE:To stick a protective film onto a glass substrate without cracking and to obtain an optical recording medium which is inexpensive and has excellent weatherability by successively providing a transparent conductive film and composite dielectric film from a transparent substrate side between the transparent substrate and photomagnetic recording layer. CONSTITUTION:The transparent conductive film 2 consisting of an oxide such as SnO2, In2O3, ZnO or TiO is formed as the 1st layer from the transparent substrate 1 side. This film is intended to impress a DC bias voltage to the substrate and is also intended to have the high adhesive power to the plastic substrate and to suppress the cracking of the substrate as said film is made of the oxide. Since the 1st layer is the oxide, the free oxygen thereof accelerates the deterioration of the optical recording layer. The mixed film 3 composed of the aluminum nitride and silicon nitride is formed as the 2nd layer and non- oxide dielectric material in order to prevent such deterioration, then the cracking is suppressed and the optical recording medium having the improved quality of the optical recording film and the improved weatherability is obtd.
