PURPOSE:To clearify the correspond a symbol of the first classification with a symbol of the second classification by executing the positioning so that the symbol of the second classification does not approach within a prescribed distance of the symbol of the first classification being non-correspondence to said symbol. CONSTITUTION:First of all, by a program 9A, a symbol (symbol of the second classification) for describing the equipment specifications is arranged well- definedly and temporarily in a relative position from a symbol (symbol of the first classification) for describing the equipment. Subsequently, by a program 9B, both signals are considered to occupy a rectangular area, respectively, and a data for defining those areas is generated. Next, whether an area of a symbol for describing the equipment specifications is superposed to an area of a symbol for describing the equipment or not is checked by a program 9D, and by a program 9C, the area of the symbol for describing the equipment specifications is moved so that this superposition is eliminated. In this way, the superposition of each area is eliminated, and also, the symbol for describing the equipment and the symbol for describing the equipment specifications correspond clearly to each other.
