摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a rigid dihydroxyboronyl group-containing crosslinked copolymer which is stable in a wide pH range and reduced in nonspecific adsorption of protein or the like, by specifying the content of alcoholic hydroxyl groups, the content of dihydroboronyl groups, the specific surface area and the amount of water which can be retained. CONSTITUTION:A boron-containing crosslinked copolymer having 1.0-14.0 milli-equivalent of alcoholic hydroxyl groups, 0.05-5.0 milli-equivalent of dihydroxyboronyl groups, each per gram of the copolymer, a specific surface area of 5-1,000m<2>/g and an amount of water which can be retained of 0.5-6.0g/g. Said copolymer may be in any form such as spheres, lumps or a membrane and when it is used in a column, it is desirably in the form of spheres of a particle diameter of, preferably, in the range of 3-1,000mu. The ratio of the total monomer units constituting the copolymer is preferably such that X in the formula falls within the range of 0.05<=X<=0.4. In the formula, a is a molar fraction of monomer units except a crosslinking monomer and n is the number of polymerizable functional groups, such as vinyl groups, contained in one molecular of a crosslinking monomer.
