PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compsn. which exhibits a high coefficient of dynamic friction under high speed conditions and a low coefficient of dynamic friction under low speed conditions and is free from grating of gears and jamming during variation of speed. CONSTITUTION:80-90pts.wt. base oil having a viscosity of 1-50cSt at 100 deg.C and comprised of a lubricating oil component derived from a mineral oil and/or a synthetic lubricating oil, such as poly-alpha-olefin, is blended with 0.2-5pts.wt. sulfurized fats or sulfurized ester which is a sulfurized fatty acid ester of animal and vegetable oils and a synthetic oil, 0.1-5pts.wt. phosphite of formula I [wherein a is an integer of 1-3; b is 0-2; and R is a 3-25C alkyl or (alkyl) aryl], 0.2-5pts.wt. zinc thiophosphate of formula II, 2-5pts.wt. metallic detergent-dispersant, such as magnesium sulfonate or calcium salicylate, and optionally additives, such as phenolic or amine antioxidants, rust preventive, flow point depressant, and viscosity index improver. |
