发明名称 PRODUCTION OF MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM
摘要 PURPOSE:To improve corrosion resistance and wear resistance without decreasing output by forming a magnetic recording layer of a ferromagnetic metal essentially consisting of Co directly or via an intermediate layer on a nonmagnetic substrate then forming a Co oxide layer on the magnetic recording layer of the ferromagnetic metal and implanting oxygen ions to the Co oxide layer. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic recording layer of the ferromagnetic metal essentially consisting of Co is formed by a method such as vacuum deposition, sputtering, a plating, etc., directly or via the intermediate layer on the nonmagnetic substrate. Co is then subjected to vapor deposition or sputtering in an oxygen atmosphere to form a cobalt oxide layer and thereafter the oxygen ions are implanted to the Co oxide layer. Alloys such as Co-Ni, Co-Cr, Co-V, Co-Pt, Co-Ni-P, and Co-Re essentially consisting of Co are selected as the magnetic metallic material to form the magnetic recording layer of the ferromagnetic metal essentially consisting of Co. The thickness of the Co oxide layer is preferably 50-300Angstrom , more preferably 80-200Angstrom in order to satisfy the corrosion resistance and wear resistance and the large reproduction output.
