PURPOSE:To improve the durability of a magnetic head and a floppy disk by using a soft magnetic body for a pressing pad and providing the pressing pad to the surface of the soft magnetic substance to decrease the local depressing force of the floppy disk FD on the magnetic head by the pressing pad. CONSTITUTION:Ferrite is used for the soft magnetic substance of the pressing pad and the pressing pad forming a pressing pad part on the surface of the soft magnetic substance is provided and the surface is polished to mirror surface. Ferrite 15a at the inside of a frame of a felt 15b of the pressing pad 15 is arranged so as to be opposed to the recording/reproducing gap 1a-1 and the erasure gap 1a-2 of the magnetic head 1 to depress the disk FD 2. The disk FD 2 is bent along the spherical surface of the magnetic head 1 by the felt 15b of the pressing pad 15 and contacts closely the gap 1a of the magnetic head 1 by the elastic force of the FD 2 to attain recording/reproduction/erasure. Thus, the contact stress of the magnetic head is made uniform and small.
