PURPOSE:To enhance spectral sensitivity in the green light region by incorporating substantially monodispersed silver halide grains sensitized with at least one combination of 2 types of sensitizing dyes specified in structure in at least one emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:The monodispersed silver halide grains are sensitized with at least one combination of at least one of the sensitizing dyes represented by formulae I and II and at least one of the sensitizing dyes represented by formula III. In these formulae, R1 is H or alkyl; each is H, alkyl, or the like; Z is a nonmetallic atomic group necessary to form an oxazolidine ring or the like; X1<-> is an anion; m is 1 or 2; each of W1 and W3 is a group having a Hammett constant sigmap of >=-0.01; each of W2 and W4 is a group having that of >=0.24; X2<-> is an anion; and n is 1 or 2, thus permitting the obtained photosensitive material to have low fog density, high green spectral sensitivity having the maximum spectral sensitivity in the green light region, especially near 550nm, and relieved dye stains after processing. |
