PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption and make a gas receiver with small capacity by decreasing/increasing the revolving speed of a compressor drive motor in accordance with rise/fall of the pressure etc. of compression gas at the outlet from gas receiver. CONSTITUTION:A reciprocative gas compressor 10 is driven by a motor 11, and the compression gas discharged from the compressor 10 is accumulated in a gas receiver 20. The gas pressure at the outlet from gas receiver 20 or the rate of gas flow increases or decreases according to the amount of use of the compression gas from the gas receiver 20. Here increase/decrease of the gas pressure or the rate of gas flow is sensed by a pressure transducer 30 or a rate-of-flow transducer 40, and the signal emitted is fed into a conversion adjuster 50. At this conversion adjuster 50, a command is given so that the abovementioned motor 11 rotates in full operation when the gas pressure at the outlet from the receiver 20, for ex., becomes lower than a certain specified value, and the revolving speed shall sink gradually down to the half with rise of the gas pressure above the specified value.
