PURPOSE:To stably carry out lean combustion by feeding a gas fuel into a sub-combustion chamber in a spark ignition type gas engine via a primary and a secondary check valve and controlling fuel feeding pressure to said primary check valve. CONSTITUTION:A torch combustion type cylinder head introduces a sufficiently thin mixture into a main combustion chamber E by means of the opening and closing of an intake valve P, while introducing a mixture thicker than this into a sub-combustion chamber D to facilitate ignition and, in general, thin mixture is burned to reduce the generation of NOx. In this case, a primary check valve (automatic valve) 2 for metering and a secondary check valve (check valve) 5 for blocking high pressure from the combustion chamber E are provided in a fuel feeding passage to the sub-combustion chamber D. And, a pressure regulator H is provided to make a gas fuel feeding pressure to the primary check valve 2 a pressure equal to, or slightly higher than, a pressure Ps in an intake manifold G.
