PURPOSE:To obtain elderberry tea useful for health promotion in a short time, by treating raw leaves of elderberry with a large amount of steam when the leaves are put in a steamer and steamed so that harshness in the leaves of elderberry is sufficiently removed as dark gray liquid. CONSTITUTION:Raw leaves of elderberry are put in a steamer, heated with steam until harshness in the leaves of elderberry is sufficiently removed as dark gray liquid, rubbed by a coarsely rubbing machine at 80-90 deg.C for 40-50min, further rubbed by a middle rubbing machine and dried by a drier to give elderberry tea. In the conventional method for using leaves of elderberry, raw leaves of elderberry are dried in the sun or in he shade to give dried leaves, which are decocted several tens minutes and decocted juice is used for drinking. The juice becomes muddy and emits an offensive odor. The elderberry tea can be produced from raw leaves in about 4hr and qualities are constant. Elderberry components are readily extracted simply by pouring hot water to the elderberry tea and an extracted solution neither causes change in quality nor emits offensive odor. |
