PURPOSE:To reduce a mode mismatching loss, and to strengthen the strength of a connected part, by selecting two pieces of fibers of object mode field diameters from among plural optical fibers of various and different mode field diameters, which have been prepared in advance. CONSTITUTION:In case of connecting an optical fiber 11 whose field diameter in a propagation mode is a large diameter, and an optical fiber 12 whose filed diameter is a small diameter, mode field diameters of these fibers 11, 12 are denoted as W0 and Wn. Between these fibers 11, 12, single mode fibers 11, 12...15 whose mode field diameters W1, W2...Wn are different are prepared in advance. The mode field diameters of these fibers 11, 12...15 are connected in order of W0>W1>W2...Wn. In this state, two pieces of fibers of object mode field diameters are selected from in plural optical fibers 11, 12...15, a mode mismatching loss is reduced, and the strength of a disassembled and connected part is strengthened. |
