摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To enable to control the slip of a lock-up torque converter such that vibration is not caused under any conditions, by controlling a direct-coupled clutch such that the torque detected directly and transmitted to an output shaft is the setting torque of the output shaft. CONSTITUTION:The slip of a lock-up torque converter 1 is controlled by detecting the torque of an output shaft 9 to be controlled directly by a transmitted- torque detecting means consisting of permanent magnets 37, 28 and a reed switch 38 such that the torque thus detected is the set value of the torque corresponding to the operational conditions of a prime mover. Therefore, no problems such as delay of control and resultant degradation or dispersion of the accuracy of the control are not caused as different from the conventional arrangements in which the deviation in the speed of rotation of a prime mover and a torque converter output element, i.e., the slip factor is detected and control is made to keep it constant. Further, such a problem that vibration is once caused does not take place as was the case in the conventional arrangement in which only the torque produced at a turbine 8 of the torque converter 1 is detected and control is made to reduce it to zero.</p>
