PURPOSE:To offer a low-power-consumption input circuit which has a fast switching speed by inhibiting a current from flowing by applying a signal which has the opposite phase from an input signal to the gates of a pull-up and a pull-down transistors (TR). CONSTITUTION:This input circuit consists of P-type MIS TRs 1 and 2 and N-type MIS TRs 3 and 4. The gain coefficients of the respective TRs are designated optionally according to the relation with an external circuit, etc. When an input signal is 'H', the TR 1 is on and the TR 3 is off and when the input signal is 'L', the TR 1 is off and the TR 3 is on, so that there is no current at this part. Therefore, the degree of freedom of the design of its resistance value is large and when the input signal is 'H', the time when a through current flow through the TRs 2 and 4 is shortened, so the power consumption is made small than before.
