PURPOSE:To aim at enhancing the safety and at preventing dust pollution, by providing a snow surface pressure sensor within a groove in the tread of a tire in order to detect the pressure of the snow surface during the groove forms a locus of pressurized snow so that the spike pins are projected. CONSTITUTION:During running of a snow covered road, when a locus of pressurized snow is initiated to be clearly formed by a tread groove 4, the pressure of snow surface is detected by snow surface pressure detecting sensors 9, and the thus detected pressure is transmitted through a sensor piece 8 to the outer periphery of a Belleville spring 6 with therefore reverses its curved surface about the circumference of a narrow section 12. Thereby, a spike pin 7 is projected form the tread surface 2 by the Belleville spring to exhibit a spike function. Further, during running on a road surface with no show, the spike pin is pressed into by the road surface to reverse the Belleville spring 6 and is sunk into the tire which is therefore turned into a normal tire. With this arrangement it is possible to aim at enhancing the safety of the tire, and at preventing dust pollution.
