Furniture underframe comprising at least three bases 1 radiating about a central foot 2 topped by a column 3 on which the various elements of the piece of furniture are arranged. Each base consists of a profile of an essentially parallelepipedal shape, comprising an upper core 5 and a lower core 6, and is equipped at each end with a pivoting castor, the other end being securely fastened to the central foot 2. Each base 1 also comprises an intermediate core 7, and comprises at its end equipped with the castor, a cutout 8 for housing the said castor. With regard to the central foot 2, it comprises a central housing 9 in which a barrel 10 is located, whose outer face is of the same shape as the said housing 9 and whose inner face has a section in the shape of a regular polygon, the said foot 2 and the said barrel 10 being pierced with two parallel series of aligned holes for fastening the bases 1. Application to the production of pieces of furniture such as seats and the like, and of movable devices for supporting objects. <IMAGE>
