PURPOSE:A part of the driving unit is connected to the driven part which is coupled with the turntable and the driving unit is controllably accelerated or decelerated to shorten the quick reverse time and increase the productivity of the press. CONSTITUTION:Turntable 1 is intermittently driven by the driving unit 3. The index table 4 which is coaxially connected to the lower side of the turntable 1 is provided with a cam follower 5 on the periphery at a certain certain interval and the follower is engaged with the teeth 6a on the cam 6. The cam 6 is connected through transmitter 8 to the driving motor 6. When the cam 6 rotates at a certain angle, the teeth 6a disengages from the cam follower 5 and the index table 4 and turntable 1 stop rotating. The cam 6 rapidly rotates, while it drives the turntable 1, but is slowly rotates during the remaining time. Thus, the intermittent reverse time can be minimized.
