摘要 PURPOSE:To enable a turning travel with high cornering limit value excellent in steering performance and a straight travel with high traveling stability by providing a control means which makes the distribution of the driving force of front and rear wheels proper regardless of the friction coefficient of a road surface. CONSTITUTION:A variable torque clutch 3 and an actuator 4 for operating the clutch 3 are provided midway in a driving force transmission system to front and rear wheels 1, 2. And, a control signal for controlling the clamping force of the variable torque clutch 3 based on the input signal from a detecting means 5, is outputted from the control means 6 of a driving force controlling device to the actuator 4. The detecting means 5 has a road surface condition detecting means 501 and a vehicle driving force detecting means 502, and the control signal from the control means 6 is determined by the driving force distribution ratio of the front and rear wheels 1, 2 and a vehicle driving force. And, the smaller the road surface friction coefficient is, the driving force distribution ratio of the front and rear wheels 1, 2 is controlled to be the more equally distributed while, on the other hand, as the road surface friction coefficient gets higher the driving force distribution is changed toward 2-wheel driving, improving steering performance.
