PURPOSE:To obtain a single plate type device in field storage mode which reproduces fresh green by composing a mosaic filter of filters of respective colors G, G, R, Cy as four upper picture elements and four lower picture elements among basic blocks of two horizontal picture elements and four vertical picture elements, i.e. 8 picture element in total, and combining differently two upper picture elements and two lower picture elements among four picture elements which are arranged vertically. CONSTITUTION:The mosaic filter consists of basic blocks of two horizontal picture elements and four vertical picture elements, i.e. eight picture elements in total, one scanning line output signal level obtained by adding two vertical lines is equal among respective lines; and four upper picture elements and four lower picture elements of each basic block are so combined as to obtain different colors respectively, and green, green, red, and cyan are arranged. Therefore, respective picture elements are nearly equal in signal amount even in field storage field and no vertical end color false signal is generated. Further, a green component in a brightness signal is proper, so fresh green is reproduced and a sharper image signal than before is obtained.
