PURPOSE:To obtain an ink roll type two-color printer capable of changing over a color with high accuracy, by constituting the title printer so that a cam pawl is engaged with the cam groove of a change-over cam to contact an ink roll with the desired type of a type wheel and the cam pawl is engaged with the face part of said cam at the time of the selection of the type. CONSTITUTION:A change-over cam 65 is connected to a drive shaft 2 rotationally driving a type wheel 5. First and second cam grooves 65a, 65b mutually shifted in a phase and face parts 65c, 65d having no cam grooves are respectively provided to the peripheral side of the change-over cam 65, and first and second cam pawls 63, 64 are provided to a roll holder 61 holding ink rolls 59, 60 in opposed relation to the change-over cam 65. The first and second cam pawls 63, 64 are engaged with the first and second cam grooves 65a, 65b of the change-over cam 65 to contact the desired ink rolls 59, 60 with the desired type of a type wheel 5 and, at the time of the selection of the type, the first and second cam pawls 63, 64 are engaged with the face parts 65c, 65d except the first and second cam grooves 63a, 63b. By the engagement of the cam pawls and the cam grooves, the inks on the ink rolls can be applied to the type of the type wheel and, by the engagement of both cam pawls with the face parts during the selection of the type, the pressure contact force of the ink rolls can be prevented from acting on the type wheel.
