PURPOSE:To take a measurement at a high rotating speed with high accuracy by detecting traction force generated owing to the difference in peripheral speed between test-pieces in the form of force which operates between a fixed and a movable frame. CONSTITUTION:A load is placed on the contacting part between test-pieces 10 and 12 by a weight 40. The test-pieces 10 and 12 are rotted at different peripheral speeds in the opposite directions as shown by arrows. Consequently, the traction force due to rolling slide force is generated in the tangential direction (Y direction) of the contacting part between the test-pieces 10 and 12. This traction force Ft is transmitted as force which moves an upper frame 20 or lower frame 32 in the Y direction and fund as the detection force of a load cell 39 coupled with a connecting rod 38 parallel to the Y direction. Further, the Y-directional components Fy of moment Fb at coupling points C1 and C2 cancel each other. Thus, the traction force is measured at the high rotating speed with the high accuracy.
