PURPOSE:The titled novel composition, obtained by grafting an unsaturated carboxylic acid onto a blend of a styrene-containing polymer with a specific polymer, having improved adhesivity to both a nonpolar high polymeric material and a top coating material and capable of preventing deterioration in performance of the top coating film. CONSTITUTION:A primer composition obtained by blending (A) a styrene monomer-containing copolymer, e.g. acrylate.styrene.acrylonitrile copolymer, acrylonitrile.styrene copolymer, styrene.butadiene.styrene block copolymer, styrene.isoprene.styrene block copolymer, styrene.ethylene.butylene.styrene block copolymer, etc., with (B) a polymer prepared by polymerizing a diisocyanate with a polyhydroxy compound having 400-3,000mol.wt. to give 0.005-0.8mol ratio (NCO/OH) and containing terminal OH groups and grafting (C) an unsaturated carboxylic acid and/or an acid anhydride thereof onto the above-mentioned blend.
