NEW MATERIAL:An N-substituted-phenanthridine.7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimeth- ane complex salt expressed by formula I [R is 1-18C alkyl, 5-6C cycloalkyl or benzyl; m is a positive number (0.5-1.5) corresponding to the number of neutral 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoqinodimethane mol contained in one mol complex salt]. EXAMPLE:N-Methyl-phenanthridine-quaternary ammonium-7,7,8,8-tetracyanoqui nodimethane complex salt. USE:An organic semiconductor useful as an electrically conductive material. PREPARATION:An N-substituted-phenanthridine-quaternary ammonium salt expressed by formula II is reacted with 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane expressed by formula III to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I.
