PURPOSE:To produce the titled substance economically on an industrial scale, by reacting an aniline derivative with a nitrous acid ester and vinylidene chloride and reacting the resultant beta.beta,beta-trichloroethylbenzene derivative with a mixture of SbF3 and SbCl5, Cl2 or SbF5. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound of formula III can be produced by reacting a compound of formula I (R1 is H, alkyl, alkoxy, NO2 or CN; R2 is H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, NO2 or CN; R3 is halogen; m is 0-3) with a nitrous acid ester and vinylidene chloride in the presence of a solvent and CuCl2, adding the resultant compound of formula II to a mixture of SbF3 and SbCl5, Cl2 or SbF5 and reacting the components with each other at 40-70 deg.C for 0.5-10hr.
