In the case of the non-return valve, the plate-shaped valve body, its pivot pin (10) and an arm (11), which connects the two, are constituted by a uniform moulded plastic part. In order to stabilise the valve body, metal covers (21, 22) are fitted and screwed centrically on the inflow side and/or on the backflow side, said covers being supported, in each case by their edges, on the edge (13) of the valve body, with the result that forces, which they have to absorb with the occurrence of backwater, are directly channelled into the seat, and the plastic valve body is consequently relieved of pressure. <IMAGE>
